What we collect when you join the waitlist or run the CureCrunch app, what we do with it, and what we do not collect.
The waitlist
When you join the waitlist we store your email address and the name you entered, if any. We use them to email you when a place opens and to invite you to register. We do not sell or rent them.
The app
When you register a device, the server records:
- a random device identifier and a secret access key, both generated by our server;
- the device model, operating system version, platform and app version;
- the work units your device completes, the summaries it returns, how long each took, and the points earned.
We use this to give out work, verify results, spot faulty devices and show your contribution.
What the data is
The research data your device computes on is open-access data from public cancer genomics studies. The app does not send us files, contacts, photos or your location.
Your choices
You can ask us to remove your waitlist entry at any time. You can stop the app whenever you like. Contact details are in the page footer.
